A
CELEBRATION OF LOCAL LGBT+ ARTISTS
MAY 20th 2018
Turtle Bay Exploration Park
@ The Quarry Patio
Redding Ca.

ABOUT
Art OUTside is a community event built around artistic inclusiveness, creative curiosities, and cultural connection. This outdoor exhibition will include a variety of LGBT+ local artists, makers and crafters.
Art OUTside will bring the public closer to the artists and strengthen the sense of community in a public place. The goal of the event is to shed some light on the local artists, enjoy the outdoors and let the community’s creativity loose!
This outdoor exhibition/market will be a one day only event on Sunday May 20th from 10am to 3pm at the Quarry Patio in the Turtle Bay Exploration Park.
There will be live music, contemporary art, performances from local dance groups, and family chalk art all encompassed in a makers market of local artists, craftsman and artisans.
Art OUTside will bring artists and creators together for one united artistic and cultural event with a little taste of the local LGBT+ artist community in various disciplines that may use the arts to explore intersections of topics like beauty, inclusiveness, environment, identity or personal expression.
Art OUTside is brought to you by The NorCal OUTreach Project thanks to a grant from the newly-formed Redding Cultural District. Art OUTside aims to jumpstart the local art scene and give emerging local artists a place to showcase their art.
*Art OUTside is a family friendly, community oriented and all-inclusive event.

ARTIST CALL:
The NorCal OUTreach Project is looking for submissions for its upcoming Art OUTside art festival showcasing and celebrating LGBT+ artists.
The event will be on May 20th, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Quarry Patio at Turtle Bay Exploration Park.
Art OUTside is a celebration of LGBT+ artists, life, culture and identity in Redding and Northern California.
All artists, makers and creators applying will be considered, emerging and established alike, but space will be limited.
This is an all-inclusive event, but artists should in some way be part of or supportive of the LGBT+ community. The art itself does not need to be LGBT+ themed and should be appropriate for a family audience. Submissions will be accepted now through April 30th, and accepted artists will be notified by May 4th.
Art OUTside will provide one 10’x10’ booth for selected artists to display and/or sell their artwork at no cost or commission. Selected artists will be required to fill out an application and provide a California seller’s permit.
Artists will be responsible for setting up and displaying their artwork. Volunteers will be available to assist in setting up and taking down displays if needed. Booths can also be shared by two or more artists if preferred.
Artists may email their submissions to lgbtqartoutside@gmail.com under the following guidelines:
-
Artist name
-
A short bio (250 words or less)
-
Medium and style of art you create
-
4 photos as examples of your art.
-
A link to your website, artist page or Instagram account.
-

-
Please don’t forget to put your name the subject line of the email
